If you’re from out of town, I would STRONGLY avoid Genesis of Schererville. They themselves admitted they don’t have their act together and did nothing to remedy the massive failure on their part. On Tuesday, I reached out to the dealership with strong interest in a Green CPO GV60 and soon after it was held for me with a Friday appointment. Throughout the week, I told them I would be coming from 275 miles (4 hours) away and intended to purchase and drive back the vehicle on the same day. The day before, I asked for the final out-the-door price so I could get a cashier's check and was repeatedly told that the request was forwarded to a manager and would be answered soon. (It wasn’t and I ended up guesstimating). Morning of, I even texted when we left and got positive confirmation. So imagine my disappointment and incredulity when I received a call while sitting in the dealership parking lot and minutes before my appointment that the car was sent away to get a scratch fixed and not available to test drive. For that long drive, all I received was a meek apology and an offer to view a completely different vehicle which was not the color or trim I wanted. We went inside and demanded to see the green GV60, which the salesperson eventually went to pick up. I test drove it and loved the car but the car wasn’t even available to be driven off the lot that day. The best they could do is drive the car to me later in the week. When it came to negotiating I demanded the car be flatbed shipped at the very least, as I did not want to pay for a stranger to add miles and wear to a freshly serviced vehicle, but their offers came nowhere close. They leaned heavily towards selling $3000 in coat protection and brake packages which I expressed firm disinterest in as a serious buyer with a cashiers check. On their second offer, they only offered half the price of the flatbed shipping and I walked out. Every apology came with a pathetic excuse (“I was off yesterday”, “we have a new used car manager”, etc.). Having a car ready for an appointment and being honest on where a car is in the process is not difficult so if this dealership can’t handle that there’s no reason to trust them with a purchase and shipping. If you’re thinking Genesis, I would try any other dealership first.

I had to take my car in for an engine light going on. The new location is amazing. It is 1000x better than where they were before. Eric and Ben have been extremely helpful in answering all my questions and concerns. I would have no concerns in getting work done at this location.

I came in for an oil change and a software update. I was there from 8:15am to almost 1 o’clock and I’m still having some difficulties with the software.

My sales person was very considerate and helpful. The place was very clean, including the restrooms. They also have an area for coffee, water, chips, etc. And place where you can charge your phone while you wait. I love the new Genesis office 🥰.

Everything was seamless with my service appointment! Eric was very helpful!!

Justin, salesperson, is fantastic! He is informed, honest, and fun to talk with. Pablo, Finance/Genesis Coverage, is also well-informed and honest. Adam, Business Manager, was friendly and helpful. I am pleased with my 2024 GV80 3.5T and the buying/trade-in experience. I'm just over one week into Genesis ownership and it's been great; I expect that will continue.

Honestly true car buyers look at reviews and everything so this place needs a rerun on clerks, managers, and sales in this place. Need to know how to actually do things and run numbers correctly. So good luck

They have had over 4 months to produce me a title with which I still do not have. They have also at time of trade-in did not produce me with a purchase agreement and bill of sale. I will NOT be recommending this dealership to any of my friends or family.

I had one of the best car buying experiences at this location! My saleman Justin was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it came to showing me all of the features of my vehicle. He was also extremely deligent in ensuring that my car buying process was as seamless as possible! I would recommend this Genesis location to anyone in the market to purchase a vehicle.

I purchased a GV80 from Genesis of Merrillville. My salesman, Zach, and everyone else I came in contact with at this dealership, went over and above to make this a very pleasant car buying experience. I was very specific in what I was looking for and Zach ensured I got just that! I highly recommend Zach and the Genesis of Merrillville!

I purchased a GV60 and was pressured into buying an ALLSTATE expended warranty from GENESIS of MERRILLVILLE. I was told this would cover any and all damage to my windshield. That it would cover a replacement "even if a squirrel fell on my car and broke the windshield". While driving, a rock hit my windshield and I had a small crack. I immediately drove to the dealership. They took pictures and never repaired the crack. A bit later, the crack spread across my windshield. I was glad that I had a WARRANTY... Hahahahaha!! They said my warranty didn't cover a windshield. After THREE scheduled appointments, they finally installed a windshield. Two times, they put it in wrong or didn't have the a part. They left my car filthy, uncharged, glass shards all over the dashboard...AND they charged me for the windshield. My HEADS-UP DISPLAY is distorted and cuts off half of the words. I found out that they installed an after market windshield that is not compatible with a HEADS -UP DISPLAY. It is also illegal to install after market parts on a car less that five years old. I have opened a case with GENESIS CARES. This dealership has LIED to them saying that they have tied to resolve my issue, but I am hindering their attempts. I have a review on GOOGLE. They responded that they will call me in a few days and help. THEY DID NOTHING!!!!! They just wrote that on every bad review so that it looks like they resolve issues. Genesis of Merrillville (Owner) 3 days ago Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, we are sorry to hear this and will have a manager reach out to discuss this further. I received this response, as did every reviewer that left a negative Google review. I haven't heard from anyone. This is just to look like they have responded. They have no intention of addressing this issue. Update: They installed an after market windshield, at my expense, after they stole my windshield warranty money. This caused my HEADS-UP DISPLAY to have a warped and incomplete appearance. It is illegal to use after market parts on a car less that five years old. I have opened a claim against this dealership with GENESIS CARES. This dealership has lied to GENESIS saying that they resolved my claim.

I was very happy with the way that juston and David handled this whole thing from start to finish and I would recommend this dealership to my friends
